City offers Movies in the Park through June

Maricopa has its own movie complex, and it’s a big one—Pacana Park.

The city’s Community Services Department recently began its free Movies in the Park series.

Films will be shown on a big screen on the west field at the park, which is located at 19000 N. Porter Rd. They will begin at sunset, which in May is about 7: 20 p.m. In June sunset is approximately 7:45 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to arrive about 6:30 p.m. to get a good seat. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic-style food. Some vendors will be on hand to provide snacks for purchase.

Saturday, May 15       “Monsters vs. Aliens”
Saturday, June 12      “The Blindside”
Saturday, Jun 26        “ Little Giants”
