County consolidates polling locations for Presidential Preference Election

FLORENCE – The Pinal County Elections Department is consolidating some of its 74 voting precincts for the Feb. 5 Presidential Preference Election, and has created a list to help registered voters on election day to find their way to the polls (See related list).

This will be the only county-wide election for which the county will consolidate 33 precincts into 18 voting locations. Precinct numbers are printed on voter registration cards, and corresponding locations are noted on the consolidated list, county officials said. The consolidated precincts are in the more populated areas such as Casa Grande, Apache Junction, Florence, Queen Creek, Kearny and Saddlebrooke.

In addition, Pinal County Supervisors Chairman David Snider said the only voters who are eligible to cast ballots Feb. 5 are registered members of the Republican or Democratic parties.

Looking ahead at the upcoming election, Supervisor Sandie Smith noted that the interest in the candidates of both parties has been intense.

“Since there is no incumbent this time around,” Supervisor Smith said, “the field is wide open in both parties. Combine that with the fact that Arizona moved its primary date up to a ‘Super Tuesday’ makes this upcoming PPE very, very exciting. I encourage all people who can vote to hit the polls on Super Tuesday.”

    Vote by Mail Precinct

Residents in Precinct 52, the Sutton Summit area, will have ballots sent to the address listed on their voter registrations and will be able to vote by mail.
