The public is invited to enroll in safety-training classes to be given July 20 by the American Foundation for Cardiomyopathy in conjunction with Anytime Fitness and win Diamondback tickets on a first come, first served basis.

Anytime Fitness is working with the foundation to provide training classes with certification in automated external defibrillator use, CPR, and first aid. The first classes will be 9 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. July 20 at Anytime Fitness, 20924 N. John Wayne Parkway. Fee is $35 for adults prepaid, free for the first child older than 8, and $10 for each additional child. Each session is limited to 20 participants.

People may sign up for the classes during two events. At the first, president of the group Anthony Miller will sign people up 2 to 6 p.m. June 29 at the UltraStar Multi-tainment Center, 16000 Maricopa Road. His group also is raffling off a Black Line Harley for the 2013 Ride for your Heart Sweepstakes and the bike will be on display during that time.

Raffle proceeds will go toward the purchase of a mobile heart-screening unit that will offer free screening.

The second sign-up is July 4. Anytime Fitness will be hosting the foundation at its booth 6 to 10 p.m. during the Great American Barbecue at Pacana Park.

While supplies last, each person who prepays for enrollment in the safety-training classes will receive two Arizona Diamondbacks tickets. The ball club supports the foundation’s Heart Safe Community program and is providing more than 100 tickets.
