A local fitness business has moved into a larger facility to make space for its growing clientele.

Crossfit Maricopa, which had been operating in a strip mall space on Honeycutt Road since 2012, opened Monday at a new location on the north part of the city at 41600 West Smith Enke Road, Ste. 129.

“Our (membership) has been growing by word of mouth – we outgrew the old facility,” said co-owner Kelly Bradley.

Bradley said the new location is 2,000 square feet – twice the size of the old facility. CrossFit Maricopa now has 130 clients.

Unlike the former location, the new facility has an outdoor space.

Kelly Bradley owns and operates the business along with her husband Scott Bradley.  They are Maricopa residents.

“Everything we do is in a small-group format,” Kelly Bradley said. “CrossFit is based on functional movements constantly varied and done at high intensity.”

She said they take a holistic approach to fitness. Every member is assigned a personal coach. The coach looks at such factors as nutrition, sleep and stress.

The facility also offers yoga classes to non-members.

Another Crossfit location – CrossFit 347 – opened this month at 21576 N. John Wayne Parkway.
