Dental floss, thrift shop bargains, Santa and ice cream

All that is part of the plan as two Maricopa businesses, Nifty Thrifty and Delicate Dental, celebrate their grand openings this Saturday.

Delicate Dental is the offspring of the owner of Maricopa Family Dentistry, Dr. Jared Pope.

Pope opened Delicate Dental as a way of providing service to Maricopans on AHCCCS or DHMO dental plans. “Residents needed a place to get low cost dental service,” said Pope’s office manager Dana Sexton. The office can be reached by phone at 520-568-7630 and is willing to deal with emergency situations.

While the dental office is a new business in Maricopa, the thrift store is a relocation.

Nifty Thrifty opened nearly six months ago on the south side of the tracks, but, due to growth and a high rental rate, owner Christina Zolyniak felt the need to move the business to a new location.

During the grand opening festivities Santa Claus will wander between the two businesses, handing out candy canes.

The dental shop will hand out a certificate for a free ice cream at The Water Boy, located in the same plaza. However, before customers can redeem the certificate, they must get it stamped by the owners of Nifty Thrifty. Mi Casita Taco Shoppe will also run specials during the event.
