School and gym unit in Suns fundraiser

Desert Star Gymnastics and Sequoia Pathway Academy had a once in a lifetime collaborative experience April 7.

This combined effort resulted in giving all students the opportunity to attend and participate in special events at the US Airway Center, Suns vs. Lakers game.

Together, the groups sold more than 815 tickets for people to attend the game and events.

The events included:

• Basketball and cheer clinics on the main court before the game.
• Special tunnel time with the players.
• Pre-game performances for Puma Cheer and Desert Star Gymnastics.
• Post-game opportunities for questions and answers with the coach on the main court.
• All opportunities were broadcasted on the Megatron throughout the event.

This combined project is helping youth in Maricopa, helping both Sequoia Pathway Academy and Desert Star Gymnastics to build a dream. Sequoia Pathway Academy is raising money to build a new playground and Desert Star Gymnastics is building a larger gym.
