Desert Sun Performing Arts celebrating 3rd birthday

Desert Sun Performing Arts (DSPA), a Maricopa dance and performing arts school, is celebrating its third birthday with a Disney theme party. Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Captain Hook and the Wizard of Oz’s Dorothy will be in attendance.

All Maricopa residents are invited to have photographs taken with these special guests for a small fee, which goes toward fundraising efforts for the school’s Disneyland trip. And, of course, there will be plenty of birthday cake.

According to Marketing Director and dance instructor Julie Stanfill, “We believe in a positive atmosphere for our students and their parents. Our school takes the responsibility of educating and guiding children very seriously. The lessons learned at dancing school go beyond the technique and steps they master.”

DSPA offers programs for all ages in ballet, jazz, tap, modern and lyrical dance, musical theatre, jazz funk, as well as a special, unique program for dancers with special needs called Inspire.

“We believe students gain an understanding of discipline, commitment, teamwork and the value of hard work. We offer them a way to express themselves and a better understanding of themselves, ” said Stanfill.
