Disaster aid loans available for January storm damage

Pinal County’s Emergency Manager, Lou Miranda, commends the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for including Pinal County in its disaster aid program.

The program makes low interest loans, ranging from 2.562 percent to 4 percent, available to small businesses, private non-profit organizations, renters and homeowners.

“The January 2010 storms dealt a severe blow to some businesses and homeowners who were already struggling from the faltering economy,” Miranda said. “Although we were unsuccessful at meeting the threshold for a major disaster declaration, we applaud the SBA for its announcement that Pinal residents and businesses can apply for low interest disaster loans.”
