Dode Dunn memorial celebration scheduled for Sunday

53

Dorothy Jean “Dode” Dunn, 80, of Maricopa, passed away on June 19, 2008.

Dunn spent her entire 80 years in Pinal County and was known throughout the area for her endless pot of coffee, iced tea and advice to all, asked or not.

Dode met Sonny Dunn at a VFW Hall dance, and they were married on June 30, 1948, and started their family on a farm outside of Florence.

Farming all over Arizona, they eventually moved to Maricopa in 1954, becoming community leaders

Dode is survived by her three children, Bill and Becky Dunn, Bobbie Arp, Shirley and Owen Kelly, eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one brother, Clay (Gail) Dossey.

A celebration in her honor will be held Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. in the Sonny Dunn barn, 16450 No. Porter Rd. Dode says, “It’s time to party!” and is fixing her last “Stagecoach Day Barbeque.”

Everyone is invited to come and share memories of Dode Dunn.
