Dressed to thrill…take the Holiday Homes tour

The Holiday Homes on Parade is fast becoming a holiday tradition in Maricopa. This year, 31 houses are participating in the festivities.

From lights that dance to music, to inflatable characters filling up front yards, this year’s friendly competition of lights is sure to please the whole family. Some houses are lit up with themes; others take a more traditional approach. Every house on the tour is dressed in the holiday spirit.

Holiday Homes on Parade, sponsored by the city’s community services department, is in its fifth year. Judging, which ended Thursday, included six categories: Best on Parade, Residents’ Choice, Most Creative, Best Use of Color, Best Theme and Best Light Show. Prizes are $500 for Best on Parade and $300 for Residents’ Choice. Winners in the other four categories will receive $100 each. All winners will be announced by 5 p.m. on Dec. 21.
