A 26-year-old man faces criminal charges after a loud and drunken video gaming ended in extensive damage to an Alterra home.

Maricopa police investigators reported in a probable cause statement Adrian A. Rosales was gaming in a North Carmen Avenue home early Sunday morning when his mother, Maria Rosales, told her son, who was drinking and cursing, to keep the noise down.

She told her son he was preventing others in the house from sleeping, the report states.

Police said Adrian Rosales kept playing, ignoring his mother’s request, so she unplugged the home’s internet router. Adrian Rosales allegedly began screaming at his mother.

The report states Adrian Rosales then approached another man in the house, Ryan Holifield, asking him to go fishing, but Holifield turned him down, seeing his intoxicated state. Adrian Rosales allegedly began fighting and wrestling with Holifield.

The report states Holified then saw Adrian Rosales was carrying a handgun on his hip, so he locked himself in his bedroom for safety.

Police said brother Daniel Rosales reported his brother then kicked down a bedroom door, and broke pictures, mirrors and other household items. Damage was estimated at more than $2,000, police said.

Rosales was booked in the Pinal County Jail on charges of domestic violence and criminal damage Sunday but was later released.

The domestic violence charge is a felony punishable by up to two years in prison. Criminal damage is a misdemeanor, punishable by four months in jail and $750 in fines.
