DSPA holding dance open house Saturday

Local, family-owned dance school, Desert Sun Performing Arts (DSPA), will be holding its 5th annual Open House Saturday.

The event, which starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m., offers the opportunity for youth, from ages 2 to 18, and their parents to familiarize themselves with the DSPA family and the services they offer.

To introduce these services, the dance school will offer free samples of classes, give potential students the opportunity to meet the school’s seven teachers and present a performance to showcase what their already enrolled dancers have learned during the past year.

“This is a great opportunity for parents and youth to see what types of classes they may be interested in,” said the school’s founder, Ceylan Gentilella

In addition to the dancing the event will feature face painting, story time and a dance wear sale.

“This is going to be a one stop shop to get everything you need for the upcoming season,” Gentilella said.

The season at Gentilella’s school essentially runs parallel to the school year, and classes meet once a week.

DSPA is proud to have maintained tuition rates at the same level as the day the studio opened because of the school’s belief that every child should have the opportunity to participate in dance and performing arts education.

Gentilella said she guarantees the satisfaction of all those enrolled in classes at her school.

“If some one finds it is not for them, they drop out and get a pro-rated refund.”
