An early morning fire destroyed the interior of a Maricopa home in the 19000 block of North Justin Drive.

The call for the fire went out around 7:20 a.m., and when fire crews arrived heavy black smoke was pouring from the home.

However, due to quick action, fire crews were able to save the structure, according to Maricopa Police Spokesman Sgt. Stephen Judd.

“The contents of the home were completely destroyed, but the structure itself was saved,” he said.

According to Judd the fire started in a bedroom and the source of the fire is believed to be electrical.

He added no one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured in the incident.
