‘Wonderful, kind, patient’ mom of 4 wins 3rd in mom of the year contest

Edna Martinez-Mora took third place in the 2014 InMaricopa.com Mother of the Year contest presented by K’Bella Salon and Day Spa and UltraStar Multi-tainment Center. Martinez received the third-most votes from InMaricopa.com readers and won a skin treatment and hair makeover from K’Bella.

Martinez-Mora is mother to four children: Nieazja, 18; Idalia Kiara, 15; Amaris, 9; and Arayah, 7.

Edna is a “wonderful, kind, patient mother of four kids struggling to make ends meet,” her friend Debra Walker said in her nomination.

“She devotes all her time and energy to make sure her kids have the best Mom in the whole wide world,” the letter states.

“Edna’s New year’s resolution in 2013 was to spend more time taking care of her. To date she hasn’t kept that resolution … This spa package would be awesome for her.”

“It’s awesome to be recognized,” Martinez-Mora said. “A lot of times Moms are not recognized for the things they do.”

On Mother’s Day, Martinez-Mora's family took her to lunch at Agave Restaurant. Her husband, Raymond Mora, made the family dinner that night.
