The Maricopa Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) of the Fire/Medical Department will have its next FEMA class March 7-30 on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00 to 9:00 pm and final, disaster simulation test on Saturday, April 9th, spanning 6 weeks.  Training classes are free and materials and equipment provided at the Maricopa Fire/Medical Dept. administration building at 20340 North Estrella Parkway, Maricopa.

CERT trains individuals to help themselves, family and their community during an emergency like a disaster, fire, terrorist attack, or other emergencies. To become a qualified CERT team member, individuals must complete the required FEMA training course and final, practical exam.  Then, individuals may apply to become a CERT team member and participate in support activities of the Fire/Medical Department and city activities.  Free follow-up training classes and exercises are provided.

Interested, community minded individuals may apply on the city website using the CERT class application form or contact Fire Marshall Eddie Rodriguez at [email protected] 520-251-0024.
