The Apache Wars

As part of the Maricopa Historical Society’s speaker series, independent scholar Doug Hocking returns to talk about the Apache wars in Arizona. Doug has completed advanced studies in American history, ethnology, and historical archaeology; served in military intelligence and retired as an armored cavalry officer. He grew up among the Jicarilla Apache of the Rio Arriba area in northern New Mexico. Doug writes both fiction and non-fiction history and has appeared in numerous historical publications. Doug sits on the board of the Arizona Historical Society, Cochise County Historical Society, the Oregon-California Trails Association, and Westerners International and is Sheriff of the Cochise County Corral of the Westerners.
