Father-daughter dance registration begins today

Snow White had her prince, and Maricopa daughters have their dads. On Saturday, June 6, the city’s Community Services Department will present Snow White’s Summer Night, a father-daughter dinner and dance.

Registration for this special evening begins today, Wednesday, April 1, at City Hall. Space is limited to 300 individuals, so it’s important to sign up early.

All daughters (ages 4-12 years old) and their fathers should submit an Activity Registration form.

Admission for the evening will be two cans of food to be donated to the F.O.R. Maricopa food bank. Dinner and music will be provided at no cost from 5-8 p.m. Pictures will be available for $5 per photo to enable dads and their daughters to remember this special event.

The first father-daughter dance was held in June 2007 with almost 300 in attendance. At that time Community Services Director Marty McDonald said, “Our staff was proud to create something that will be a memory for the dads and daughters for the rest of their lives.”

“We are in the business of creating memories,” said McDonald, and this year’s Snow White’s Summer Evening is certain to be another lasting memory for those attending the event.
