A garage fire in the Maricopa Meadows neighborhood was “quickly” extinguished, according to a city official.

Maricopa Fire and Medical Department and Maricopa police responded to West Guilder Avenue around 10:30 p.m. last night.

“Crews were able to quickly contain it to the garage and extinguish it,” public safety spokesperson Monica Williams said.

At about 10:50 p.m., firefighters were seen hosing themselves off outside the home after tackling the blaze.

A resident sustained a minor burn to a finger, Williams said. No firefighters were injured.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
