Local Great Clips best in state; second store opens

The first Maricopa Great Clips, at 20928 S. John Wayne Parkway, has been the highest-ranking store in the state for sales – both product and haircuts – for three years in a row. 

Prior to that, it was No. 1 in the state for customer accounts.

So it’s no surprise when the second location opened this past Thursday at 41620 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway by Walmart it was bustling with customers from the start. 

“We decided since our first one is so successful and there was a (location) opening … we would make it more convenient for (customers),” said Sandy Brennan, operations manager for both stores. 

Brennan attributed the salon’s success to its employees and stylists. 

“We have a great team in both salons,” Brennan said. “They’ve really taken ownership of the stores.” 

Jessica Roybal, salon manager at the John Wayne Parkway location, echoed Brennan’s comment.

“I think it’s our customer service and the quality of our haircuts,” Roybal said. “Our girls are really friendly and make it comfortable, and fun even.” 

Having two stores also benefits the stylists and employees. 

Brennan said the stylists who work at the new location were able to train at the older one. 

Roybal agreed. 

“We’re very proud of being the top store,” Roybal said. “But we’re sister stores.”
