On Friday Harrah’s will host The Grass Roots for two sets of rock and roll.
The Grass Roots, a U.S. rock band, charted between 1966 and 1975 as the brainchild of songwriting duo P. F. Sloan and Steve Barri. Between 1967 and 1972, The Grass Roots set a record for being on the Billboard charts for 307 straight weeks. They have sold over thirty million records worldwide.
During their career the group achieved one platinum album, two gold albums, one gold single and charted singles a total of 21 times.
The Grass Roots will perform at both 8 and 10 p.m. in the Oasis Lounge at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Resort, 15406 Maricopa Rd.

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino opened in Maricopa in December 1994. The 40,000-square-foot casino has a wide selection of slots, video poker, and table games. The Ak-Chin Bingo Hall has been totally remodeled and provides the latest in Bingo technology.
Last December the Ak-Chin Indian Community continued its management contract with Harrah’s and signed an additional five-year agreement with the company.
