As part of “Paint the Town Red Week,” which was officially proclaimed by Mayor Christian Price at Tuesday’s City Council meeting, local businesses showcased their Maricopa Ram pride by decorating their stores during homecoming week.

A committee judged the participants and declared Courtny Tyler’s State Farm agency the winner.

“We had the windows painted, and we decorated the entire inside of the office with streamers and other decorations to show our Rams pride,” Tyler said.

Tyler and her family were given V.I.P. treatment at the game with free tickets, T-shirts and a comfy couch to sit on to view the game just beyond the south end zone.

“This is awesome,” Taylor said. “This is quite the treatment to receive while I check out a Rams football game for the first time.”

Maricopa Ace Hardware owner Mike Richey decorated his store, too.

"When you live in a smaller town like this it's more fun to get involved, and nothing's better than high school football," he said.
