Just a Buck, Curves close doors; Classic Clothes Outs for sale

Relocation brings an end to one Maricopa business and a possible new owner to another.

The owners of Just a Buck recently closed their doors, due to a decision to relocate to Texas. Owner Eric Peterson had previously said that he is appreciative of all the support customers in town have shown his business.

Another entrepreneur, Christy Hashisaki, owner of Classic Clothes Outs, is leaving the city and wants to sell her women’s resale-clothing store. She recently posted her business for sale on the online advertising service Craigslist for $25,000.

While a desire to leave Maricopa is the reason two business owners have picked up and left town, it isn’t clear what happened to Curves.

Curves is a female-only fitness shop that switched owners back in October 2008.

At the time, new owner Ellen Thimmes said she was excited to take the business over. However, Curves has recently closed and Thimmes has not returned calls.

The landlord of her space confirmed that the fitness shop would no longer be operating from that site.
