Knights of Columbus blood drive Saturday

35

Maricopa residents are being asked to donate a little time and a little blood during a local blood drive Saturday.

The Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church are sponsoring a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the multi-purpose room at Maricopa Wells Middle School, 45725 W. Honeycutt Ave.

United Blood Services (UBS) will collect the blood. Prior to giving blood, donors are asked about their medical history and current health. Donors then have their temperature, blood pressure, pulse and blood hemoglobin level checked.

Seven hundred blood donors are needed daily in Arizona. With just one blood donation, donors can reportedly save up to three lives.

Donors will be thanked with a voucher for a gate pass to the FBR Open golf tournament.

To schedule an appointment, call Chuck Morene at (520) 868-6587 or visit www.Bloodhero.com. For questions about eligibility to donate, call (800) 288-2199, ext. 5497.
