Local entrepreneur sells children’s toys made of felt

With a trend of toys becoming more reliant on technology and isolation, at least one company is looking to go back to the days of imagination and creativity.

That company is Time 4 Felt, and it is owned by Maricopa resident Awnya Boam.

Boam’s business sells a line of games, toys and books – all crafted from felt.

Animals are one of the themes available in felt.

“These items encourage literacy, personal growth and creativity,” Boam said.

One example of these toys is the “Three Little Pigs” storybook game. It comes with felt characters and a storyboard children can move the pieces across to act out the story.

Along with the game is an audio CD of the story so children can listen as they play.

“The idea behind felt products is multi-sensory learning and play,” Boam said.

Space camps is one of the themes available in felt.
