Local PCSO Chaplain asking community’s help

92

Pinal County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) chaplains provide assistance to both deputies and detention officers when a sudden emergency arises.

Chaplain Chris Ward is asking Maricopans for their help in providing for a family in crisis. According to Ward, these are the circumstances:

“Sgt. Vikki Cannon works at the County Jail in Florence. Up until a few days ago she was pregnant with her fifth child. An infection set in that seriously threatened her life and that of her unborn baby. They had to take the baby six weeks early by C-section, and Vikki was in ICU on respirators as the infection had moved into her heart and lungs. Praise God, she is now recovering well, and the baby is doing okay, too.”

However, Ward added, due to the length of Cannon’s unemployment, there is a great need to provide for her and her family over the next month or so. Immediate needs are clothing and school supplies as school starts for her other four children in Coolidge on Monday.

The children’s ages and clothing sizes are as follows:

Ricky (boy), age 10; size 14
Rashawn (boy) age 6; size 12
Rikeem (boy) age 4; size 7
Rikeisha (girl) age 4; Size 5

Food supplies for the family would also be greatly appreciated. Monetary donations can be made at the Pinal County Federal Credit Union, account #66312-00.

A box for donations will be available at the Maricopa PCSO substation next to the Justice Court and the fire department on John Wayne Parkway at noon today until close of business Friday.

To help this family in need or for further information, Ward can be contacted via email or at (520) 431-5356 or (520) 568-5400.
