Maricopa men soon to have their own barbershop

Tired of looking at the frilly, girly products while waiting to get a haircut? Sick of the person cutting your hair knowing more about interior design than sports? Then a new business prepared to open in Maricopa may be the place for you.

That business is the CNC Barber Shop and Spa, and it is a place where every man can go to get his man suit groomed.

The owners of the store, Cedric and Carla Neal, are opening the man shop this Sept. 16. It will feature several services, including haircuts, manicures, pedicures, shaves, massages and more.

“The men of Maricopa are ready for this,” Carla Neal said.

All of these services will be available without the intrusive eyes of women, sort of. The shop will be divided into two sections; one of these sections will be an old school barbershop complete with checkered floors and televisions. The female section will be closed off and private, featuring haircuts, color, highlighting, perms and extensions.

“This shop is a step back from the salons today that have that unisex atmosphere,” Carla Neal said.

Prior to opening their shop, the Neals had been working out of Guy and Gal salon and saw a need for a full service barbershop in the Maricopa area.

“We saw a great need for a shop like this in Maricopa, so we decided to open one up,” Carla Neal said.
