Maricopa to cut through red tape

61

Celebrate the opening of Maricopa’s One-Stop Shop for development and permitting at a red tape cutting on Monday, September 22.

The shop, located at 45145 W. Madison Ave., in City Hall, is the culmination of the city’s efforts to streamline the permitting process by consolidating seven different departments into one in order to save residents and developers time and money.

The effort began nine months ago.

“Basically, any time anyone needs a development permit or has a project to develop in the city, they can come to one place and meet with all of the necessary departments,” said Brent Billingsley, Development Services Director. “It makes everything more convenient.”

“This program was the next step in the department’s reorganization,” stated Billingsley. “Customer service is a top priority for the City, and the One-Stop Shop will provide a simplified process that developers, business owners and residents need to complete projects in the City of Maricopa.”
