Who serves the best fried fish in town?

Whether you like your fish served with chips or smothered with tartar sauce between two buns, there is a sea of choices in this desert city.

Readers stuffed the ballot box of this week’s InMaricopa poll to the gills. They cast over 1,400 votes for their favorite fried fishery.

More than 75% of voters — 1,058 in total — said they were hooked on Arby’s crispy fish sandwich.

Compared to Arby’s, the other eight eateries in our poll seemed like small fries and floundered for votes.

With the second-most votes, Culver’s garnered 16% of votes for their North Atlantic cod dinner. The Roost’s fish and chips came in third with 3% of reader votes.

Six other restaurants gathered less than 2% of votes apiece.

Native Grill & Wings’ fish and chips, and McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish both garnered 2% of votes, while Long John Silver’s fried Alaska Pollack, IHOP’s crispy fish platter and Burger King’s Big Fish Sandwich all claimed 1%.

Denny’s fish and chips collected less than one percent, totaling just seven votes.
