Did you miss your high school prom? Want to have a ‘redo’ of that night? Just want to dress up and have a great night of fun, music and dancing?

If the answer is ‘yes,’ then you need to mark your calendars for Maricopa’s first Senior Prom for those over age 50. The evening’s theme is “Down Memory Lane.”

The event will be held at Maricopa High School on Friday, April 30; with a reception at 6:30 and a buffet-style dinner at 7 p.m. Members of the Maricopa High School Culinary Arts group, under the direction of Rex Sherry, are preparing the menu, which includes mixed greens salad, lemon herb marinated chicken with an orange Dijon mustard sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, choice of vegetable, rolls, coffee, iced tea or lemonade and pumpkin spice bars for dessert. Vegetarians may also request Pasta Primavera as their main entrée.

After dinner dancing with a DJ will feature music from the 1940s through the 1980s. Dress is “after 5” attire.

Tickets are $25 per person. They are available from Therese Starkey at 520-568-8945, Helen Brown at 520-868-6111, or on the www.MaricopaSeniors.org site.

“This will be a  place to meet old friends, new friends or just to get out for a great night of fun, food and music,” said Maricopa Seniors treasurer Marge Kavanagh.

“All proceeds will be going to benefit Maricopa Seniors Inc., which is  raising funds to help support a senior center and the health and benefits of all seniors in Maricopa,” Kavanagh said. Those programs include the Pendant for Life and Infinity Card.

Reservations are limited to 70 people, so reserve your tickets now for a ‘senior’ Senior Prom to remember.
