Marijuana operation discovered in Rancho El Dorado

Maricopa Police officers responded to the 45500 block of West Hillman Drive in Rancho El Dorado Nov. 16 on a report of a suspicious person screaming and a male subject with a gun walking from a nearby residence.

Upon arrival, officers contacted a subject later identified as David Hartman. Hartman advised officers that he was arguing with his girlfriend over the phone. The male subject with a gun was later found to be a concerned neighbor holding a cordless phone.

Officers entered the home to check on the welfare of the occupants. In the master bathroom of the home additional suspicious activity was discovered.

A search warrant was obtained and served at the residence, where a live indoor marijuana grow was located. The operation was dismantled and seized. The seize yielded 26 live marijuana plants, an assortment of marijuana-related drug paraphernalia and about $3,000 in equipment.

Four adults were arrested on 12 felony counts.
