Fish store for sale

Maricopa’s only fish and aquarium store is now for sale.

Ernesto Becerril, owner of MegaAquarium, has posted on www.bizbuysell.com and www.bizquest.com that his pet fish and supply store is for sale at $44,000 or best offer.

Becerril said he now has an opportunity to work in a distribution business.

“It’s a time issue,” he said. “The store has to be run by the owner because at this time it doesn’t pay enough for an employee.”

The store opened in May on North John Wayne Parkway near the old water tower. He emphasized the store is not closing and will remain open as he searches for a buyer.

“The store is doing well and gets new customers every day,” he said.

It is the only fish and aquarium store within a 20-mile radius and has “a gratifying atmosphere with its multi-color variety of fish and accessories,” Becerril said.

The lease is $800 a month, and the store comes with $7,500 of inventory and $26,000 of furniture, fixtures and equipment.  Becerril listed the gross annual income at $96,200 and said there are opportunities for expansion by adding reptile pets, food and accessories.
