Methodists begin morning services in February

Journey United Methodist Church is moving—to a new place at a new time.

On Feb. 14 members of Journey’s congregation will meet for the first time at Santa Cruz Elementary School, 19845 N. Costa del Sol, in the Tortosa community.

Instead of the 5:10 p.m. Sunday time slot at Butterfield Elementary, services will be held on Sunday mornings at the new location.

“The leadership team believes this move will significantly increase worship attendance as many people have a hard time with the late afternoon time slot,” said Kevin Kloster, Journey’s pastor. In addition the move will allow planning for a second, more traditional service.

“We understand that some people may not be able to attend the morning service time.  While we regret this, we believe more people can make the morning service, and that Journey UMC will grow because of this move,” explained Kloster.
