Maricopa has its own movie complex, and it’s a big one–Pacana Park.

The city’s Community Services Department recently announced the return of the Movies in the Park series. The theme for this season’s scheduled films is “Toons Under the Moon,” featuring a mixture of classic Disney and Pixar movies.

Films will be shown on a 23-foot wide big screen on the northwest (original) soccer field at the park. They will begin at sunset, which in May is about 7: 20 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to arrive about 6:30 p.m. to get a good seat. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic-style food. The Community Services Department’s recreation staff will offer games and fun during the pre-show time period. Some vendors will be on hand to provide snacks for purchase.
