The Maricopa Police Department Community Action Team, as well as volunteers, will be conducting a door-to-door survey throughout the Heritage District to gather information from the residents of the neighborhood in order to apply for federal grant money.
The money being sought by the department will be used to complete improvements to the infrastructure within the Heritage District.
“The Mayor and City Council approved the submittal of a grant application for the Community Development Block Grant funding in April,” MPD public information officer Ricardo Alvarado said. “As part of this application submittal a special survey is one of the required elements to be completed.”
The information gathered is only valid if everyone in the district responds to the survey.
In preparation of the survey, MPD sent letters and copies of the survey to residents in the heritage district in December. Door-to-door surveying began on Monday and will last until June 19. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and will be available in both English and Spanish. Officers and volunteers will be going door-to-door each day until 7 p.m.
