The goal is to raise food for the F.O.R. Maricopa local food bank and to have some fun as well in the first annual Maricopa Cop Turkey Trot.

Entrants can walk, run or trot for either two or four miles. Friends and family are invited to come and either participate or cheer on those in the trot.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the Villages clubhouse, and the trot begins at 8:30 a.m.

“Let’s fill up the police cars with canned food for Food, Opportunity and Resources, the local food bank,” says Sgt. Stephen Judd, MPD spokesperson.
