Making a joyful noise

A few Maricopa Unified School District officials took to ringing bells this week and reveling in seeing students outside the school environment.

Ember Conley, the district’s acting deputy superintendent, Kymberly Marshall, the director of exceptional student services, and Krista Roden, director of curriculum, did stints this week waving to people, ringing bells and trying to collect money for the Salvation Army’s red kettle holiday program. Oh, and passing out candy canes.

Stationed at Walmart, Marshall said it was especially nice to see students in a nonschool environment and vice versa.
