Mysterious Mansion Mayhem winners announced

The top three winners in the Mysterious Mansion Mayhem Halloween home decorating contest have been announced.

Local homes and their yards were both spooky and spectacular, but judges tallied their votes Thursday evening, after viewing local residents’ Halloween decorating skills.

Winners are:

First Place, Richard and Linda Huggins
Second Place, Ron and Betsie Gentz
Third Place, Scott and Jill McCann

The Huggins, who obviously enjoy decorating their home, won for best theme in last year’s Holiday Homes on Parade contest.

Rules for this year’s contest were simple. Maricopans were to decorate the exterior of their homes with original, creative and spooky Halloween characters, scenes and props. Then they were to register with the city to participate in the contest. All decorations had to be visible to the public, and in accordance with local HOA rules.

Winners will be able to pick up their prizes at city hall during normal business hours, and the city thanked all participants for their efforts.

There still may be time to view not only the winning decorations, but also the entire field of nine entries (click here for map).
