Native American family exploration camp offers summer fun

Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort is proud to once again offer this educational and fun-filled retreat for the entire family. Enjoy an authentic and respectful journey of the ancient cultures of Pima and Maricopa People who have called the Gila River Indian Community home for thousands of years.

Amil Pedro, a modern-day Indiana Jones, will lead a weekend culture-tracking workshop and Native American arts and crafts session for a limited number of young guests who upon completion of his tracking course will be awarded an honorary certificate deeming them an official "Cultural Scene Investigator" (CSI).

Each child receives a "Tracker Pack", a camouflage backpack that contains a compass, bandanna, CSI engraved pencil, note pad and CSI t-shirt.

Offered two weekends this summer, June 10-12 and July 29-31, these packages provide the ideal way to expand your children's horizons, keep their young minds engaged during the summer months and build lasting family memories.

An exciting new addition to this summer's programming, The Phoenix Herpetological Society, will be on-site with an exhibit showcasing reptiles indigenous to the Sonoran desert to photograph, touch and even hold.

In addition to Cultural Tracking, the team at the Sheraton Adventure Club will host a full schedule of poolside and resort-wide family activities including:

• Cinema-Splash with Native American themed feature
• Traditional Pima Chumuth making breakfast session
• Night Scavenger Hunt

This package is suggested for children 5-12 years old and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Offered from $119 per night, families receive two nights in a luxurious guestroom (Friday check-in), access for two children into the culture-tracking workshop and two "Tracker Pack" welcome amenities. In addition, two adults will receive a $25 credit good toward a-la-carte services at Aji Spa. Each participating family is welcome to enter additional children into the culture-tracking workshop complete with the "Tracker-Pack" for $20 per child.
