Nearly $18 million collected on behalf of county children

The County Attorney’s Child Support Division collected a record $17,968,204.00 in child support during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, Pinal County Attorney James P. Walsh announced today, July 20th. This represents a 12.25 percent increase over the previous year.

The Child Support division, headed by Deputy County Attorney Michelle Krstyen, is the second largest division in the office with 41employees, including four attorneys. The division, in addition to collecting delinquent child support, also assists parents in establishing paternity.

“Our Child Support Division is a model for the State of Arizona and for the nation,” said Walsh. “Michelle and her staff are extremely dedicated to their mission and deserve both thanks and respect for their diligent efforts.”
