New Maricopa cookbook to raise funds for food bank

Still making your grandmother’s meatloaf recipe? Do you make the best lasagna in Maricopa? Then you should submit your cherished recipes for inclusion in the Maricopa Community Cookbook.

Each hardcover cookbook will retail for $20. Proceeds from this commemorative edition will go to the F.O.R Maricopa food bank to benefit members of the community in need. The goal is to sell a minimum of 200 cookbooks as a fundraiser.

The Maricopa Community Cookbook would also make a great gift for family and friends to showcase your recipes. Pre-orders will be accepted at [email protected].

You can submit recipes for the following categories:

1. Appetizers and Beverages
2. Soups and Salads
3. Side Dishes
4. Main Dishes
5. Breads
6. Desserts

The theme is holidays. Each month will feature a different holiday event:

January – New Years’ Day and Football
February – Valentine’s Day
March – St. Patrick’s Day
April – Easter/Passover
May – Mother’s Day, Cinco De Mayo
June – Father’s Day, Flag Day
July – 4th of July
August – Maricopa Bacon Holiday
September – Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah
October – Columbus Day, Halloween
November – Thanksgiving
December – Hanukkah/Chanukah, Christmas Eve, Christmas

Volunteers are needed to serve on the cookbook committee. If you are interested in helping, please email [email protected]. Photos of Maricopa as well as food photos will also be needed.
