Progress is visible at the work site of Maricopa Police Department’s new headquarters.

Utility and foundation work can be seen at the construction site on the northeastern corner of West Bowlin Road and North Maya Angelou Drive, just south of the current facility.

“We are targeting a late April 2024 completion date, “Brandon Lavorgna, communications manager for the city, said.

The skeleton of the building’s foundation can be seen, along with a web of utility wires as crews from Caliente Construction continue their work.

The $24.5 million, 32,000-square-foot facility will house the Police Department and include a jail with four holding cells, administration services and as many as 20 dispatch consoles.

Discussions are ongoing about future usage of the current facility.
