Restrictions for nighttime commuters on North John Wayne Parkway are coming Wednesday through Friday in the “final steps” of paving work on that road.
Crews will pave the middle northbound lane of John Wayne Parkway between Smith-Enke Road and the northern city limit, and the intersection at Lake View Drive, according to Arizona Department of Transportation spokesperson Steve Elliot.
“There also is a section of southbound John Wayne Parkway that will be repaved, from the northern limits to the Lakeview Drive intersection,” Elliot said. “Most of this work is being done in the evening and overnight to minimize traffic impacts.”
On Wednesday, northbound John Wayne Parkway will be restricted to one lane between Smith-Enke Road and the northern city limit from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Thursday.
Cobblestone Farms Drive will be closed between John Wayne Parkway and Grand View starting at 7 p.m., according to ADOT. Lakeview Drive will be closed between John Wayne Parkway and Rancho El Dorado Parkway.
As a detour, Cobblestone Farms residents can use the southern Cobblestone Farms Drive entrance, and Rancho El Dorado residents can take Smith-Enke Road to Vintage Drive.
On Thursday, northbound John Wayne Parkway will be restricted to one lane between Smith-Enke and the northern city limit from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Friday.
Southbound John Wayne Parkway will be restricted to one lane from the northern city limit to Smith-Enke Road from 7 p.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday.
The following rolling restrictions will be in place beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday:
- No left turns in either direction onto John Wayne Parkway at the Lakeview Drive/Cobblestone Farms Drive intersection.
- Right turn only from eastbound Cobblestone Farms Drive to southbound John Wayne Parkway.
As a detour, Cobblestone Farms residents can use the southern Cobblestone Farms Drive access to northbound John Wayne Parkway.
On Friday, southbound John Wayne Parkway will be restricted to one lane between the northern city limit and Lakeview Drive stating at 7 p.m. until 8 a.m. Saturday.
Northbound John Wayne Parkway will be restricted to one lane between Smith-Enke Road and Lakeview Drive beginning 4 p.m. Friday ending 8 a.m. Saturday.
The following turn restrictions will be in place beginning at 7 p.m. Friday:
- No left turns in either direction onto John Wayne Parkway at the Lakeview Drive/Cobblestone Farms Drive intersection.
- Right turn only from eastbound Cobblestone Farms Drive to southbound John Wayne Parkway.
ADOT encourages drivers to slow down and use caution while driving through the work zone.
