No more subs at Quiznos as another Maricopa business closes

Customers hoping to get a toasted sub sandwich or a salad for lunch Tuesday were disappointed. The sign on the front door at Quiznos in the Fry’s Marketplace Center said, “Closed.”

The hand-lettered sign offered no explanation as to whether or not the business might reopen, but calls to the owners went unanswered because their phone is disconnected. Quiznos corporate office in Denver has also not returned our call.

Chairs are stacked on tables inside the shop’s once busy dining area.

“I really liked the vegetarian options that Quiznos had. They had really friendly employees with great customer service,” said Jennifer Kacprowicz, owner of
Secondhand Pages Bookstore.

Quiznos, as well as most of the other retail spaces in the Fry’s Marketplace, opened almost two years ago. The ribbon cutting for those stores took place in October 2005.

Since that time Ramsey’s bar and restaurant, Century 21, a cleaners and Xtreme Fitness (See Xtreme Fitness closes; city buys equipment) have all closed their doors.
