Pinal County voters turned out in force to cast their ballots for the candidates of their choice in state, district and local elections. Of the 102,799 registered voters in the county, 54,609 voted at one of 74 precincts on Tuesday. The 53.1 percent turnout underscored the importance of these mid-term elections.
As of 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, the local results, as posted by the Pinal County Elections Department and the Secretary of State’s Web site, were:
Maricopa Unified School District Bond Election:
Yes: 2,407
No: 668
Local residents went to the polls and took this advice–they voted a resounding “yes” on the school district’s bond election.

(In addition, Shannon Amos will serve a two-year, uncontested term on the school board.)
Seeking uncontested seats on the Maricopa Fire District’s Governing Board, Carl Diedrich, Amy Haberbosch and Rebecca Molus will all serve as directors until July 1, 2007.
