P & P flooring opens in Maricopa Business Barn

A new tenant is moving into the Maricopa Business Barn – P & P flooring.

The owner of P & P, Pat Lamson, decided it was time to open up a storefront after four years of operating in Maricopa. “Everything has started to come together, and it seemed like a good time to make this move,” Lamson said.

Lamson’s company sells and installs a complete line of flooring, including tile, wood and carpet. However, the company only keeps samples of the materials available on hand.

“We don’t want anyone to buy any stale carpet,” Lamson said.

Lamson got into the flooring business when she met her husband Pete nearly 15 years ago. At the time she was a leasing agent at a property where he came to do the floors, and, according to her, the rest is history.

It isn’t only flooring that P & P is offering. The company has expanded its offerings to include used books and knick-knacks, or what Lamson calls ‘curiosities.’ “It is just a bunch of different odds and ends that attract people’s attention,” Lamson added.

In total the storefront features almost 9,000 used books at severely discounted prices, and half of all book sales goes to charity.

“We want to keep them inexpensive enough that everyone can afford them,” Lamson said.

P & P opened for business at the beginning of this month.
