First Baptist Church of Maricopa will host internationally recognized Christian recording artist Paul T. Fleming Sunday, March 5, at 6 p.m.

Raised on the Dutch Caribbean Island of St. Maarten, Paul T. Fleming realized at a young age that music was his gift. Though he traveled to the United States to pursue a career in the medical field, Fleming ultimately found himself drawn back to his music; his songs were an expression of the joy he felt being a Christian.

For over 10 years now, Fleming has been traveling the world performing in places like Guyana, Northern Ireland and Scotland, along with the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.

Performing as part of the 1997 “Evening of Praise” concert at Waterfront Hall in Belfast, Fleming was also a featured artist on the video “Live in Northern Ireland: The Palmetto State Quartet and Friends.”

Fleming released his fourth album, “Rain of Peace” in 2005 and his current tour incorporates the diverse music from this album. “My purpose with this recording is to affect people in an uplifting manner,” Fleming explains. “Where joy and peace would be the emotions that they would express or experience.”

Fleming explains the reggae and Caribbean flavor to some of his songs saying “I believe that heaven will be filled with songs of praises that will be culturally diverse with no age specifications. I often try to offer a little taste of heaven through my ministry in music.”

Join First Baptist Church Sunday evening and experience it for yourself. While admission to the concert is free, offerings will be accepted. First Baptist Church is located at 18705 North John Wayne Parkway.
