PCSO’s Stuff the Bus school supply drive

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the kick off of the Pinal County “Stuff the Bus” School Supply Drive.

From July 21 through Sept.1 the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office and their partners will be collecting school supplies to be dispersed to Pinal County Schools.

The Florence Unified School District has graciously offered the use of one of their school buses so the Sheriff’s Office can move the bus around the county collecting school supplies for students and their teachers.

As many families feel the impact of cuts to our education system, so do the educators who are providing supplies from their own pockets because the schools have been forced to cut supply budgets. The sheriff’s office decided it was imperative to support our county schools and our most valuable community members, our children, and help provide our educators and those children the tools they need to learn and prosper.

The goal is to fill the school bus twice to provide needed supplies to get the schools through the fall and then to host another supply drive to help replenish diminishing supplies in the spring.

Chief Jim Kimble said, “Our goal is to completely fill the bus, two times, with supplies that will benefit not only Pinal County children but also their teachers. All supplies received will be divided and presented to schools within Pinal County. During these challenging economic times, any contribution regardless of the monetary value, will go a long way to support the leaders of tomorrow.  Please consider this an opportunity to help a child or teacher throughout the new school year.”

Donations of new school supplies can be made in Maricopa at the UPS Store, 20987 N. John Wayne Parkway, on Aug. 25 from 1-3 p.m. or at any sheriff’s office substation, the adult detention center or the county attorney’s office.

Cash donations can be made payable to the Pinal County Justice Foundation–Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive. The Pinal County Justice Foundation is a 501C(3) non-profit organization, and all donations are tax deductible. A tax-exempt ID number will be provided upon request.
