Phase 2 of State Route 347 resurfacing project begins

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has begun phase 2 of the 10-mile resurfacing project of State Route 347 from the Pinal County line south to Edison Road in the City of Maricopa.

The first phase of the project, which included milling (removing a layer of the existing pavement and recycling the old pavement), will conclude on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

On Monday, Aug. 27, and Tuesday, Aug. 28, paving was scheduled to be done on the northbound shoulder lane. The right southbound lane will be paved on Wednesday, Aug. 29, and Thursday, Aug. 30, from the Pinal County line to Edison Road.

The contractor will not work on Friday, Aug. 31, through Monday, Sept. 3, for the Labor Day holiday and will complete this section on Tuesday, Sept. 4. All work will be conducted from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

On Tuesday, Sept. 4, paving is scheduled to be done on the right southbound lane. On Wednesday, Sept. 5, and Thursday, Sept. 6, paving is scheduled to be done on the right northbound lane beginning at the Pinal County line to Edison Road. All work will be conducted from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

On Sunday, Sept. 9, paving is scheduled to be done on the right northbound lane. On Monday, Sept. 10, through Thursday, Sept. 13, paving is scheduled on the left southbound passing lane of SR 347 beginning at the Pinal County line to Edison Road. All work will be conducted from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

On Sunday, Sept. 16, through Wednesday, Sept. 19, paving is scheduled on the left northbound lane of SR 347 beginning at Edison Road to the Pinal County line. All work will be conducted from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

On Thursday, Sept. 20, miscellaneous work will be done. All work will be conducted from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists are advised to watch for construction personnel and public safety officers and to obey all posted speed limit signs while traveling through the construction area.
