Maricopans wanting to sit on Santa’s lap will get a chance this Saturday and Sunday.
Desert Sun Performing Arts, in conjunction with Amy Jamieson Photography, will be holding a picture with Santa toy drive.
Parents or others exchange have the opportunity to exchange an unopened toy for a 5 by 7 inch picture with Santa.
“It is one toy per picture,” said Ceylan Gentilella, owner of Desert Sun Performing Arts.
The toys the local businesses receive through the drive will be split evenly with the Maricopa Fire Department and Against Abuse, a organization headquartered in Casa Grande that provides shelter for battered women and their children.
“This is a great opportunity to benefit children and avoid the malls at the same time,” Gentilella said.
