Pinal County’s Board of Supervisors has initiated a project to communicate with and involve the citizens of Maricopa as well as landowners and municipalities throughout the County. The purpose of this public outreach is the update of the Comprehensive Plan to manage growtand to ensure a livable, sustainable and competitive County that preserves the quality of life.

A key tool to communicate about the planning effort and to solicit input during the process is the project Web site www.PinalCountyPlan.com.

The project Web site will provide residents with the most up-to-date information regarding the project, including upcoming event dates and the latest work products. This site will also be a place for residents to find ways to get involved in the process, including a Web page where residents can submit their comments regarding the project. The Web site includes the following components:

Project Overview -A general overview of what a comprehensive plan is and what lies ahead for Pinal County.

Project Outreach -Ways to participate in the process and other activities related to the Pinal County Comprehensive Plan, including upcoming events and youth-related activities.

Project News – The latest press regarding this exciting project.

Questions & Comments – Submit your questions and/or comments regarding the project and find Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

Library – Important project documents and work product, including meeting presentations and important project findings.

Contact Us – Learn how you can contact the Pinal County Comprehensive Plan team.

Over 100 public events are planned as part of the process. The first series of public events to be held over the next 12 months, nine county road shows to discuss future growth and development, are scheduled for July.

The information collected from the road shows will assist in developing a framework for the creation of the County’s vision. In August another series of vision workshops will be organized around the county to develop the Pinal County Vision Statement that will guide the development of the Pinal County Comprehensive Plan. When completed, the plan will be a tool to help guide and shape the county’s future growth.
